REAL VIRTUALITY

(2013)

How much space do we allow the virtual world?

In 2013, the G8 summit took place in Northern Ireland.

The region had been badly affected by the financial crisis. To make it more presentable, the local government put up giant stickers on empty shop windows to make them seem open.

The effectiveness of the subterfuge layd in the fact that the cars of the official delegations only drove through these villages without even stopping.

This work troubles viewers by focusing their gaze on these "trompe-l'oeil", which blur the boundaries between real and fake.
